United Communities = Strong Communities

The San Diego community is beautiful, diverse, and is at its finest when all its citizens are engaged AND equal. As such, HandsOn San Diego stands in solidarity with everyone out there defiantly, confidently, proudly proclaiming that all Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) matter.

HandsOn San Diego’s mission is to strengthen communities through volunteer action. We believe that when individuals are actively engaged, communities are stronger.  Yet, we, as an organization, acknowledge that we have more to do to ensure that our practices are aligned with a statement of solidarity. We can and must do better.

We are committing ourselves to righting our wrongs and actively engaging in promoting a just and equal community inside our organization and in all that we do externally. We are committed to diversifying our staff, volunteer base, and advisory board. We vow to hold each other accountable and to promote anti-racist work, ideas, and action. We will continue to partner with organizations that support and are led by BIPOC.

Thank you for your continued support of and engagement with HandsOn San Diego.
