HandsOn San Diego is the volunteer center for San Diego County. We serve as a one-stop hub for volunteers seeking meaningful opportunities, while providing guidance to nonprofits struggling to recruit the volunteers needed to achieve their missions. By empowering individuals and organizations to collaborate, we promote civic responsibility and work to address the most pressing needs of our community. Through this collaborative approach, we are building a stronger, more resilient San Diego—one act of service at a time.

HandsOn San Diego is able to provide our volunteer recruitment services to our nonprofit partners thanks to the generous donors like you who understand the impact volunteers have on our community. Our nonprofit partners count on our organization to provide the extra hands needed to distribute food to families in need, care for a dog up for adoption, restore our open spaces, and more. Tim Mulligan, chairman of one of our partner organizations the Lemon Grove Alano Club, shared about their experience with HandsOn San Diego:

Our nonprofit club has a lot of foot traffic and it's hard to take care of all the chores. HandsOn San Diego made the difference with keeping up but the real gift has been the experience we find with each volunteer. There is a sense of collaboration where we are all helping each other. So far in 2024, we have made over 9,000 connections to volunteer opportunities, serving 106 nonprofits and governmental agencies, and providing over 30,000 hours of service to our community.
