ECO: Earth Day Care for the Butterflies at Olivia Canyon

Olivia Canyon is a beautiful urban canyon in the City Heights neighborhood, boasting native wildflowers, incredible habitat for wildlife, and a monarch waystation. Monarch waystations are places that provide resources necessary for monarchs to produce successive generations and sustain their migration. Without milkweeds throughout their spring and summer breeding areas in North America, monarchs would not be able to produce the successive generations that culminate in the migration each fall.

Volunteers will be removing invasive species from encroaching upon valuable habitat for monarch butterflies, as well as providing space for plants to expand on their own.
