SORT: Organize Thrift Store Donations

Auntie Helen's serves individuals with low incomes or with underlying health conditions such as HIV/AIDS. They are self-supportive through their thrift store and private donations which fund programs such as delivering groceries to families and helping individuals through addiction recovery. 

Volunteers are needed at their thrift store to sort, fold and hang donations, disbursing them between various designated areas. Your help will allow them to run the thrift store's in-person and online shopping more efficiently. Once a week Auntie Helen's distributes groceries to 300+ families, volunteers may be asked to help with bagging and distributing food as well. 

Auntie Helen's is currently in the process of closing their thrift store so volunteers will also help with packing and moving their inventory. 

Project Requirements & Important Notes

• Attire: Wear comfortable attire and closed-toe shoes

• Physical Requirements: Auntie Helen's is able to work within any physical requirements. Volunteers may be asked to help with lifting heavy items, please let the Volunteer Leader know if you are not comfortable with those tasks. 

• ​Safety: Face masks are recommended. Social distancing guidelines are observed per CDC guidelines.

• ​Note: Volunteers that arrive more than 10 minutes late will be turned away. Volunteers are asked to stay for the full duration of their shift.
